Aikya Kerala Kalari Sangam was established on January 7, 2004, in Nanminda, Calicut, Kerala, by Sri M. Vijayaprakash Gurukkal, a devoted disciple of the legendary late Sri T.K. Madhavan Gurukkal. Rooted in centuries-old traditions, our Kalari is a sacred space where martial art, healing, and spiritual growth converge.

At Aikya Kerala Kalari Sangam, we uphold the profound Guru-Shishya parampara (teacher-student lineage), which not only nurtures physical skill but also fosters inner transformation and spiritual awareness. Our training is deeply connected to Kalarippayattu, one of the oldest martial art systems in the world, and the therapeutic wisdom of Kalari Marma Chikitsa—a traditional system of healing that integrates body, mind, and spirit through the principles of Tapam (discipline), Japam (chanting), and Dhyanam (meditation).

Kalarippayattu, as we practice and teach it, is intertwined with the ancient sciences of Ayurveda and Yoga, emphasizing holistic well-being. Students trained under our guidance are introduced not just to martial techniques, but to a way of life that builds strength, awareness, compassion, and spiritual elevation.
The spiritual core of our Kalari is inspired by the Shivaparvathi Sankalpa and the activation of the seven chakras, or energy centers, culminating in the awakening of the Serpent Power and attainment of Moksha (liberation). These include:
